The Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival 'EVFest' is all about thinking of sustainable transport in fun and innovative ways that support the development of electric vehicle industries in the region. We already build our state's electric trains and mining equipment, time to see what else we can do!

So get involved. Visitors to  EVFest 2015  will be able to explore an electric vehicle future at the EV Show to be held on Saturday 3rd October 2015 at the Newcastle Town Hall Circuit. We have just had our annual EV Prize event in August where participants built and demonstrated or raced an electric vehicle for the EV Prize challenge.

- 6th August 2015 - Race Practice Day and Team Entry closed on Fri 31 July 2015.

- 13th August 2015 - EV Prize competition race day - Australia's largest electric bike Grand Prix - Cameron Park Raceway 7am - 4pm

The future for the Hunter is truly Electric!
The Festival started on Thursday 6 August at  8am with scrutineering  and Rider Skill Training Program taking up for the most part of the morning. After lunch School Teams Safe and compliant to have practice rides were given the opportunity to get a feel for the track and to be exposed to the challenges of the varied topography the track presents as practice sessions for school teams and community teams and also for the enthusiast demo class track time. The day wrapped up with schools teams really appreciating the steep learning curve and the experience gained from the practice day. We had 59 Teams Registered and 34 teams attending the Practice Day. We had 18 Hub Class, 6 Chain Class, 5 Open Class and 5 Demo Class. The weather was magnificent and the day was enjoyed by all present.

On Thursday 13th August 2015 the EV Prize Race Day commenced from 7am to 4.30pm with  61 online team registrations and 48 Teams attended the competition on Race Day. There were 37 school teams from 19 High Schools and 11 hobbyists teams made it to the 2015 EVPrize Race Track.  There were 25 teams in the Schools Hub Class, 12 Teams in the Schools Chain Class and 6 teams in the Open Class. Competition was fierce and the action was truly electric! Another brilliant day with good weather and loads of fun racing for competitors and cheering for the spectators.
